His Marine team was heavily outnumbered by OpFor but Penson was able to call the US Navy Aviation F/A-18 Hornets to bomb the enemy lines in the town. Once the first line of defense was cleared, Penson's team managed to advance towards their objective, an OpFor POW camp. Penson's team was pinned down by a couple of technicals which were destroyed by Penson himself. The Marine team eventually reached the POW camp and rescued more than 90 civilians about to be executed.
