Second Lieutenant Michael W. Collins is a US Marine, he serves in the USMC 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, being the Second-in-Command of "Fox" company, in which the condecorated unit Apache 6-1 is.
Biography[]
Lieutenant Collins was born in Camden, New Jersey to Alphonse Collins, a Vietnam War veteran and Adelaide Collins, a social welfare worker. Collins lived a troubled childhood, with his abusive father, who would routinely beat him and his mother.
Military Service[]
He joined the Marines in 1999, with his first deployment being in Kosovo during 2000. Collins was then part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, working alongside Polish GROM to secure the port of Umm Qasr and Az Zubayr on 2003, earning him a promotion to Sergeant. Collins partook in many more raids with the 15th MEU in Iraq until his transfer to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit on 2005.
In 2013, he was re-deployed in a peacekeeping operation in Somalia, to stop a terrorist uprising in the Horn of Africa. His courageous actions earned him a "fast-promotion" to Second Lieutenant.
